Dark color. Spicy, fine and a bit woody on the nose. Charming on the palate, the wine is flowing, and enjoyable in its touch. Aromas and tannins remain fine. Flattering and instantly delicious aspects.
Haut Marbuzet would really deserve more than its rank since Hervé Duboscq, and after 1982 his son Henri, have tooken it in hands. This wine has become famous thanks to its very personal style, totally different from the traditionally austere Saint Estèphe wines, developping a sensual charm together with a strong wooded taste and a matchless smoothness. Located between Montrose in the North and Cos d'Estournel in the South, on a gravel crest with argilo-chesty soil, Haut Marbuzet has a higher part of Merlot than its neighbours. This wine is always being aged in new barrels.
